There are several ways to enjoy fine art on your walls, but for collectors and connoisseurs a simple poster, no matter how elegant the frame, just won’t do. While most of us do not have the means to purchase original masterpieces, even if they do come up for sale which is very rare, that doesn’t mean that we can’t display authentic looking works of art in our collections. There are a few ways in which the classic oil paintings of the masters are reproduced for the enjoyment of modern day collectors. So what are the major differences between fine art prints and hand painted oil painting reproductions?
Prints are just that; prints. And while some fine art prints are of a higher quality that others, there are just some elements of the original paintings which cannot be captured in a print no matter how high the resolution. That’s because of the lack of dimension which is able to be expressed through prints.
Hand painted oil painting reproductions, on the other hand, bring the depth of actual brush strokes to the canvas, creating additional dimension and detail and rendering a finished creation that much more closely resembles the original.
Fine art prints are often more economical, but hand painted oil painting reproductions are more authentic looking and accurately detailed.
